CS Lewis: Beyond Narnia

If you enjoyed The Narnia Code earlier this year, you may also be interested in viewing CS Lewis: Beyond Narnia - an engaging biography" of the creator of the land of Narnia and the magical beings who dwell there. It was filmed in Oxford, where C.S. Lewis lived, worked and imagined the tales that make up the Chronicles of Narnia.

Interview with Narnia Code author

You may be interested in an interview with the Rev. Dr. Michael Ward, an Anglican minister and the author of Planet Narnia: The Seven Heavens in the Imagination of C.S. Lewis. The book was featured in The Narnia Code - the BBC documentary called broadcast on BBC1 in April and May.

Repeat showing of Narnia Code (May 18‏)

If you missed The Narnia Code last month it is to be repeated on May 18 at 7.30pm on BBC4.

Googling to check if it would be available on the BBC iPlayer again, I found this article: Secret theme behind Narnia Chronicles is based upon the stars, says new research with some background to the documentary as well as the official Narnia Code website.

I missed The Narnia Code on BBC1 last night but am pleased I will be able to watch it on BBC iPlayer. In it CS Lewis expert Dr Michael Ward explains the hidden meaning behind the Narnia Chronicles.

If you are thinking about re-reading old favourites during the the Year of Reading, you may be interested in a blog post from Sam Allberry who says that the correct order for reading the Chronicles of Narnia is the order in which they were published: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; Prince Caspian; The Voyage of the Dawn Treader; The Silver Chair; The Horse and His Boy; The Magician's Nephew; and The Last Battle.
