YHA Great Outdoors Challenge‏

The YHA is setting you a challenge…to turn off the TV, put that book down and get yourself, friends and family in the open-air and start enjoying the British Spring Time. The YHA is throwing down the gauntlet for you to share your photographs and any moments that capture the great outdoors.

My YHA

Somehow I missed the launch of My YHA at the end of last year:
Since My YHA was launched in December, more than 1,500 people have signed up to become part of YHA’s online community. Registering your details on the site allows you to start your own topics in the forum, respond to comments left by other users, and submit reviews of any hostel . You can use the online forum to help you find out information about what YHA has to offer. People have so far been discussing anything from their favourite hostels to looking for suggestions for their next holiday.

Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show

The Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show is taking place again from 14-16 March at the NEC Birmingham. It is aimed at all explorers, adventurers, cyclists, kayakers, canoers, runners, skiers, boarders, climbers, base jumpers, bmx-ers, ramblers, off road drivers, scuba divers and…walkers. Entry is £12 if booked in advance or £16 on the door.

On the Show website I was alerted to a YHA competition: My Favourite YHA. You simply visit the My Favourites section of the website and upload a picture of your favourite YHA and a few words explaining why it's your favourite; there are five weekend breaks for two at the YHA of your choice available as prizes. You may also win a pair of free tickets to the Outdoors Show if your image is chosen to go on the Show home page.
